Playing with Cousin Vince

Visit with Scott, Heather and Cousins Ray and Vince

We had a fun visit with Auntie "Hidder" (Heather) - Zach's sister, Uncle Scott, and cousins Ray and Vince a couple weekends ago. Carter loved playing with the older boys.

UC Riverside's Homecoming BBall Game

A few weeks ago we headed out to "Daddy's work" to see the UCR homecoming game. Carter and I loved sitting in the front row and watching the Highlanders defeat UC Davis. Dad almost lost his job when Chancellor White welcomed us to the game and Carter greeted him by smacking him in the face with a pom pom. Thankfully, the Chancellor has a young son and was VERY understanding!

Grandma Darla's Shadow

We spent last weekend in Las Vegas and I didn't take as many photos as I should have...I definitely had the chance. Carter spent the whole weekend being buddy buddy with "Gah-ma Darla!" He woke up at 6 every morning with tears in his eyes..."See Gah-ma Darla!"

Carter and Daddy enjoying their Sunday morning coffee

Yes, Carter's enjoying his bagel, but what's really sad is that we know the trash truck comes at precisely 8:30 AM every Sunday morning. Carter is not looking at Daddy, but the trash truck, just over his shoulder. It was a good day - bagel with "dip dip dip" (cream cheese) and a trash truck!

Rare shots from the playground at Carter's daycare!

Frolicking in the leaves

Although it was 80 degrees this weekend, the leaves were on the ground just like it was fall. We spent some time outside enjoying the great weather.

He came! He came!

It was truly a Christmas Miracle. Carter must have been good (enough!) this year. He got so many nice things from friends and family, and Santa of course! Below are just a few photos of his wares.

Of special note is his trash truck, which he has been asking for for the past couple months, as you can see from the stocking he made a day care. He LOVES LOVES LOVES it and still plays with it every day.

Christmas Festivities

Carter was such a big helper decorating our Christmas tree. Below you can see his excitement with the finished product!

On Christmas Eve we took a walk around Balboa Island, and Carter especially loved all the "Carter-sized" boats in the pier. One house, in particular, was our favorite (although you can't tell from Carter's face in the photo - classic!). It had a real snowman and Santas that walked on tight-rope over the roof.

Carter, Mom and Dad at the Balboa Boat Parade

For Zach's birthday we had dinner down on the peninsula, then braved the rain to see the boat parade. Carter was not a happy camper at first - he wanted to stay in the "nice and warm" car. Once he saw the boats and twinkle lights, though, he didn't want to leave. As a sidenote, this is one of the few times you'll see a photo of just Zach and Carter - a birthday gift, I guess?

More fun...and not so much fun...with Ninners

Carter and Auntie Lindy at Chuck E. Cheese

Over the break, we took a quick trip home to Las Vegas to see Boise State play Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl. While Zach and I braved the rain and cold weather, Carter was spoiled by "Gahh-Mah" and Auntie Lindy with a trip to the mall, Toys 'R' Us, Chuck E. Cheese and dinner at McDonalds.

Honestly, I don't think he realized we were gone. Enjoy the shots from Chuck E. Cheese's photo booth.

Carter's Stocking at School

He's obsessed with garbage trucks - he likes watching them bring the trash cans "up and down, up and down."
